SYDNEY — A young humpback whale tangled in rope and a buoy off Sydney’s coast has sparked a major rescue effort. Aerial footage showed the distressed whale struggling to swim, with the rope wrapped around its left fin, making it hard to dive. Wildlife experts from ORRCA say the whale’s erratic movements and unusual southern path are worrying signs. Rough seas and strong winds have slowed efforts, but rescuers remain hopeful for a safe disentanglement.
