JERTIH — Grief swept through Terengganu as more UPSI students killed in the Gerik highway crash were buried early this morning.

Fatin Nasrien Fadil, 22, was laid to rest in Kampung Kerandang at 4:10 am, while Fakhrul Arif Rosdi, 20, and Sufea Adela Maslihaizan, 21, were buried shortly after in separate village cemeteries. Around 100 mourners, including family, villagers, and state officials, gathered for final prayers held at Masjid Hadhari after the bodies arrived from Ipoh.

Two others — Nurul Fatihah Abu Setaman, 22, and Nurul Izyanti Muhamad Azhar, 21 — were scheduled for burial later this morning. Earlier, Wan Nur Suhaila and Muhammad Adib Hazim were laid to rest after being transported from Gerik Hospital.

The deadly crash, which happened between 12:30 am and 1:00 am on Monday, involved a chartered bus carrying UPSI students from Jertih to Tanjung Malim. The collision with a Perodua Alza claimed 15 lives and injured 33 others.
