NIBONG TEBAL — The Education Ministry is awaiting a full report on the early morning fire at SM Sains Alam Shah, Cheras, which destroyed the school’s administration building.

Minister Fadhlina Sidek said swift aid will follow, with Secretary-General Datuk Dr Aminuddin Hassim assessing the damage to ensure learning continues safely.

She expressed sorrow over the incident and relief that no lives were lost, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to student and teacher safety.

Separately, Fadhlina said teachers posted far from their spouses may now apply for transfers after two years instead of three, aiming to better balance personal and staffing needs.
