Harimau Malaya head coach Peter Cklamovski praised his players’ commitment and discipline following Malaysia’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Vietnam in their second Group F match of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers at Bukit Jalil Stadium.
The Australian coach said the result reflected the effectiveness of their training despite limited time together. “We created good chances in the first half and showed discipline in the second. The players deserve full credit,” he said at the post-match press conference.
Cklamovski also urged his squad to stay grounded and focused on upcoming matches, noting there is still room for improvement.
On the other side, Vietnam coach Kim Sang Sik acknowledged Malaysia’s strength, saying they were much stronger than before. He noted that Vietnam stuck to their plan in the first half but struggled after losing two defenders in the second. Still, he remains hopeful for a comeback in the return leg.
Malaysia’s goals came from Joao Figueiredo, Rodrigo Holgado, Corbin Ong, and Dion Cools, ending an 11-year winless run against Vietnam.
