Despite Malaysia’s dominant 4-0 win over Vietnam in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, head coach Peter Cklamovski expressed concern over ongoing divisions within Malaysian football. While pleased with the result, Cklamovski pointed to internal challenges, including “politics, betrayal, and daily obstacles,” suggesting the team’s unity is fragile and easily shaken by results.“If we had lost, critics would have attacked me, TMJ, and the players. Now that we’ve won, they’ll act like our biggest supporters,” he said, hinting at backlash over the inclusion of mixed heritage players. He urged for an end to negativity and called on Malaysians to rally behind the national team. “There’s a beautiful culture here. I hope our performance brings people together and stops the games played in the media or behind the scenes.”Cklamovski praised the fans for their support and said the team played to inspire. “We wanted to give Malaysians something to believe in. Hopefully, our football can unify the nation and help the game grow.
