KUCHING — A man was arrested in Kuching after allegedly flashing an airsoft gun while driving, an act caught on video and widely circulated on social media.
Sarawak Police Commissioner Dato Mancha Ata confirmed the arrest and said the airsoft gun was seized. The suspect was believed to have been detained at his residence.
Airsoft guns, which fire plastic pellets using compressed air or gas, are banned in Malaysia under Section 36 of the Arms Act. Violators face up to one year in jail, a fine, or both.
Police are currently investigating the case.
