WASHINGTON — The US State Department has issued a worldwide caution, urging Americans abroad to stay alert as tensions rise in the Middle East following strikes between Israel and Iran.
The advisory warns of increased security risks, travel disruptions, and potential anti-US protests abroad.
Though the alert didn’t mention the US bombing of Iranian nuclear sites, Iran has threatened retaliation, including strikes on US bases and regional allies.
The US has begun evacuating its citizens from Israel and ordered staff to leave its embassies in Iraq and Lebanon.
