DALIAN (China) — The first two sets of Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) trains and two electric locomotives for Malaysia’s East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) will be shipped from Dalian, China, this October by CRRC Dalian.
These trains, built for both passenger and cargo transport, will undergo up to 8,000 km of testing upon arrival in Malaysia. CRRC Dalian will provide full lifecycle support, including maintenance, on-site technical service, and training for local staff, along with a two-year warranty.
This initial batch is part of a 2022 supply contract to deliver 11 EMU sets and 12 locomotives. Their arrival by late 2025 ensures readiness for the ECRL’s planned launch in 2027.
