KUALA LUMPUR — The Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association (PPIM) has ended its ties with Ikatan Usahawan Kecil dan Sederhana Malaysia (Ikhlas) after learning the group was deregistered in 2022.
PPIM’s Datuk Nadzim Johan said they were unaware of Ikhlas' status when they recently submitted a joint memorandum to the Home Ministry, stressing it was their first and only collaboration, with no financial dealings involved.
He added that PPIM wants to avoid working with unregistered NGOs and will be more cautious in the future. Ikhlas was deregistered for failing to submit financial statements, with its president blaming Covid-19 disruptions.
