KANGAR — A 37-year-old couple in Kangar pleaded not guilty to abusing their 10-year-old daughter, who sustained physical injuries in an incident on June 18 at their home in Taman Desa Saujana, Arau.
Charged under the Child Act 2001 and the Penal Code, they face up to 20 years in jail, a RM50,000 fine, or both if convicted. The court granted each of them RM20,000 bail with one surety and barred them from contacting the victim. They must also report to police monthly.
The case is set for mention on July 17.
