TEHRAN — Iran launched missiles at the US Al Udeid base in Qatar in retaliation for American strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. The attack, which caused no casualties, was dismissed by President Trump as a “very weak” and expected response.
Iran said the missile count matched US bombings, signalling a proportional retaliation. Qatar intercepted the missiles but condemned the strike as aggression. Explosions were heard in Doha and Tehran, while Iran claimed six missiles hit the base.
Tensions flared after the US joined Israel’s campaign, with over 400 killed in Iran and 24 in Israel. Oil prices dropped sharply as markets reacted to the escalations. Trump called for peace and hinted at possible regime change in Iran, while world leaders, including Macron, urged an end to the violence.
