SEOUL — South Korea’s Sookmyung Women’s University has revoked the master’s degree of former first lady Kim Keon-hee after confirming her 1999 thesis was plagiarised.
The university’s Graduate School of Education committee made the decision to uphold academic integrity and research ethics.
Kim, wife of ousted president Yoon Suk Yeol, has also come under scrutiny at Kookmin University, which has begun moves to cancel her doctoral degree, as a valid master’s degree is required for eligibility under the Higher Education Act.
