Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) has refuted claims that treated sewage discharge caused flooding in Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam. Following an inspection prompted by a local councillor’s complaint, IWK found the main issue was clogged drains filled with rubbish, sediment, and tree roots. The company added that the area’s low-lying geography and proximity to Sungai Klang worsen flooding. It confirmed the existing sewerage system and treatment plants, operating within capacity, have not changed their discharge route in over 30 years. Findings were shared with local authorities.Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) has refuted claims that treated sewage discharge caused flooding in Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam.
