The Malaysian Bar has voiced concern over the government’s decision not to extend the tenure of Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun, and Federal Court Judges Tan Sri Abang Iskandar and Tan Sri Nallini Pathmanathan, despite their exemplary service. It questions the move, especially given the current shortage of senior judges, and warns that such exclusions risk damaging public trust and judicial independence. The Bar urges the government to uphold its promise to protect independent institutions and not let political motives influence the judiciary.
