LONDON — Ruud van Nistelrooy has left his role as Leicester City manager following the club’s relegation from the Premier League, the club confirmed Friday.
The decision to part ways was mutual, with the 48-year-old Dutchman stepping down after taking charge in November 2024. Despite his efforts, he couldn’t prevent Leicester’s drop back to the Championship after just one season in the top flight.
Leicester praised Van Nistelrooy’s professionalism and his role in promoting academy talent, thanking him for his service.
Van Nistelrooy expressed gratitude to the players, staff, and academy for their dedication during his tenure.
