BAD HOMBURG — Iga Swiatek moved one step closer to her first grass-court final with a 6-4, 7-6 (7/5) win over Ekaterina Alexandrova in the Bad Homburg quarter-finals.
The five-time Grand Slam champion will meet Wimbledon 2023 finalist Jasmine Paolini in Friday’s semi-final, after the Italian beat Beatriz Haddad Maia 7-5, 7-5.
This marks Swiatek’s second career grass-court semi-final and her first grass tournament of the season ahead of Wimbledon.
In the other semi, top seed Jessica Pegula will face Linda Noskova. Pegula edged past Emma Navarro in three sets, while Noskova beat Mirra Andreeva in straight sets.
