TEHRAN — Iran has cast doubt on Israel’s commitment to the current ceasefire following a deadly 12-day conflict that halted Iran-US nuclear talks. The war began when Israel bombed Iranian sites, killing top nuclear scientists, prompting Iranian missile retaliation.

Iran’s military chief warned they remain ready to respond if Israel violates the ceasefire, while rejecting UN nuclear watchdog IAEA's request to inspect damaged sites. Iran also suspended cooperation with the IAEA, accusing its chief of bias and espionage.

Despite claims from the US and Israel that Iran’s nuclear program was severely damaged, intercepted Iranian communications suggest the impact was less than expected. Over 600 civilians were reportedly killed in Iran and 28 in Israel during the conflict.

Meanwhile, Iran passed new communication restrictions, including a ban on Elon Musk’s Starlink, as the US sees potential for renewed Middle East dialogue in the aftermath.
