*Iran's President Accuses Israel of Assassination Attempt During Recent War*

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian claimed in a July 7 interview with Tucker Carlson that Israel tried to assassinate him during last month’s 12-day war between Iran and Israel. The conflict, which killed over 1,000 in Iran and 28 in Israel, also targeted key Iranian nuclear sites.

Pezeshkian said the assassination attempt happened during a meeting that Israel allegedly tried to bomb. He denied U.S. involvement, blaming Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu for pushing “forever wars” in the region.

The war disrupted planned nuclear talks between the U.S. and Iran. Pezeshkian expressed willingness to resume negotiations but questioned whether the U.S. could be trusted not to allow further Israeli attacks. He also invited U.S. investment if sanctions are lifted, warning Washington that it faces a choice: peace or endless conflict.
