Peter Anthony Seeks Review Hearing Before Sabah Assembly Dissolves

Incarcerated former Sabah infrastructure minister Datuk Peter Anthony wants his review application against his forgery conviction, three-year jail term, and RM50,000 fine to be heard before the Sabah state assembly dissolves, likely in September.

His lawyer, Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla, made the request during Court of Appeal (CoA) proceedings, noting Peter is still the Melalap assemblyman. The CoA panel, led by Datuk Azman Abdullah, postponed the review to August 20, pending the full grounds of judgment.

Peter was jailed in March after losing his appeal over a forged document related to a 2014 UMS contract. He filed for review in March, while the prosecution's preliminary objection was raised in April.
