The High Court will deliver its decision on August 12 regarding an application by Toh Puan Na’imah Abdul Khalid, widow of former finance minister Tun Daim Zainuddin, to review the Sessions Court's dismissal of her request to refer legal questions in her undeclared assets case.
Na’imah was charged for failing to declare assets, including properties in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act. She argued that as a witness, she was not required to answer questions, while the prosecution contended that Section 30(5) of the MACC Act obligates her to assist in the investigation.
Her application to refer legal questions on the MACC Act and Anti-Money Laundering Act to the High Court was previously dismissed by the Sessions Court, which found no merit or constitutional issues.
