An Indonesian couple, Heriadi (39) and his wife Keti (36), were sentenced to six months in prison for entering Malaysia illegally. They pleaded guilty to violating Section 6(1)(C) of the Immigration Act, after being arrested on June 23 near Jalan Teku-Pasai Siong. They lacked valid travel documents, and Immigration records showed no entry or exit under their names. Upon serving their sentence, they will be referred to the Immigration Department.
Heriadi is also facing a murder charge for allegedly killing an Indonesian man, Andi, on June 22 at a plantation hut on Jalan Rantau Panjang. The murder case is scheduled for hearing on August 29.
