KUALA LUMPUR: Women's doubles Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah will hope to make an immediate impact at this week's Japan Open after signing a new four-year contract with BAM.
But they need to be mindful of a first round pitfall against the Bulgarian sisters, Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva.
World No. 3 Pearly-Thinaah, who last week extended their contract with BAM after a seven-month impasse, are in high spirits to continue their strong run on the Word Tour.
However, Rosman has cautioned that every pair at the Japan Open pose a threat, and that includes the 16th-ranked Stoeva siblings who are four-time European champions.
"The first round is going to be very tricky against the Bulgarian sisters. They are a good pair," said Rosman.
Pearly-Thinaah have a 2-1 head-to-head record against Gabriela-Stefani, and they need no reminder of their straight-game defeat in the first round of the 2023 Malaysia Open to the Stoevas.
