World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka has pulled out of the Canadian Open in Montreal, citing fatigue after a grueling season. The Belarusian, 27, said skipping the July 27–August 7 event will help her prepare for her US Open title defense. Sabalenka, who reached Grand Slam finals in Australia and France and semi-finals at Wimbledon, said she’ll miss Canadian fans but looks forward to returning next year. Tournament director Valerie Tetreault expressed disappointment over her absence. Paula Badosa also withdrew due to injury, while Canadian Eugenie Bouchard announced she’ll retire after playing the Montreal event.
