A former director of an Umrah travel company, Datuk Zulkarnain Endut, 44, pleaded not guilty today to two counts of dishonest misappropriation of property totaling RM48,960.20.

Misappropriating RM27,960.20 from a 45-year-old man between February and July 2023.

Misappropriating RM21,000, along with an accomplice still at large, for an Umrah package with Emraz Travel and Tours Sdn Bhd between February and March 2023.

Both charges fall under Section 403 of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of up to five years imprisonment, whipping, and a fine upon conviction.

Zulkarnain was granted bail set at RM2,500 and RM6,000 for the respective charges, with the next mention scheduled for September 24.
