Kelantan Chicken Trader, Husband Remanded Over RM3.1m Ganja Bust

The remand for a couple arrested in Kuala Krai on suspicion of masterminding a ganja trafficking syndicate worth RM3.1 million has been extended for another seven days, until next Monday. Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat stated that charges will be laid on July 21 against the chicken trader and her e-hailing driver husband. Police are continuing investigations to identify any links to other syndicates.

Separately, Mohd Yusoff reported that Kelantan's overall index crime for January to June 2025 decreased by 14.3% (162 cases) compared to the same period last year. However, violent crimes saw an increase in rape (19 cases, 26.8%), armed robbery (4 cases, 400%), and injury cases (16 cases, 18.8%). Road accidents decreased by 2% (123 cases), with fatal accidents dropping by 19% (32 cases).
