PBB Dismisses Power Struggle Claims as "Ulterior Motives"
Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, information chief for Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), has dismissed claims of a power struggle between PBB president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and deputy president Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan for the premier's post.
Responding to a Free Malaysia Todayarticle, Abdul Karim asserted that such claims are unfounded and driven by those with "ulterior motives" seeking to stir up trouble. He emphasized that Sarawak politics, especially within PBB, is characterized by a deep-rooted culture of respect and disciplinefor the leadership, unlike dynamics seen in other regions.
Abdul Karim highlighted that PBB members consistently demonstrate discipline and loyalty, even during candidate selections, willingly stepping aside when their time is up without complaint or revolt. He reiterated that such speculation is merely rumor designed to "stir things up."
