PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei fell short of their first final this year after losing to China’s Jiang Zhen Bang-Wei Ya Xin in the Japan Open semi-finals today.
The Chinese world No. 2 pair defeated the Malaysians 21-12, 21-16 in just 38 minutes at Tokyo’s Metropolitan Gymnasium — marking their third win in four meetings against the Malaysians.
Zhen Bang-Ya Xin will face Thailand’s world No. 5 Dechapol Puavanukroh-Supissara Paewsampran in the final tomorrow.
