KUALA LUMPUR — Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin met leaders from eight opposition parties to discuss forming a united coalition focused on national interests and strengthening checks and balances in Parliament.
On Facebook, Muhyiddin said all attendees responded positively and their views will be brought to the PN Supreme Council.
Present were PN’s Hamzah Zainuddin (Bersatu), Dominic Lau (Gerakan), Punithan Paramsiven (MIPP), along with Mukhriz Mahathir (Pejuang), S. Arutchelvan (PSM), Amira Aisya (Muda), Ibrahim Ali (Putra), Sathiah Sudakaran (PPP), Zamani Ibrahim (Berjasa), P. Ramasamy (Urimai), and P. Waytha Moorthy (MAP).
Notably absent was PAS, a key PN partner. Several attending parties, like Pejuang, Putra and Berjasa, were previously part of Gerakan Tanah Air, which struggled in GE15.
