PETALING JAYA — Ismanira Abdul Manaf tearfully told the Sessions Court she never neglected her autistic son, Zayn Rayyan, on December 5, 2023, the day he went missing. Testifying in her defence, she recounted picking him up from school, playing at the playground, and realising he had vanished on the way home. She said she left her doors open, hoping he’d return, and called out for him repeatedly. The next day, Zayn’s body was found in a stream with signs of foul play. Ismanira faces up to 20 years’ jail if convicted of neglect. Proceedings continue tomorrow.
