SEOUL — Families of victims of South Korea’s deadliest plane crash have condemned a government report blaming pilot error, calling it misleading. The Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 crashed at Muan airport last December, killing 179. The report claimed a bird strike damaged one engine, but the pilot mistakenly shut down the other, causing total power loss. Families and the pilots’ union criticised the findings as premature and lacking transparency, demanding access to black box recordings. Investigators are still probing other factors, with a final report due next June.
