KUALA LUMPUR — Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi have mutually agreed to drop all defamation and contempt lawsuits against each other over the long-running “kutty” dispute.
Both withdrew their respective High Court cases without the right to refile, including Zahid’s suit accusing Mahathir of interfering in his graft trial and contempt proceedings over Mahathir’s 2023 press conference.
Their lawyers said the settlement was made in the public interest to foster unity among leaders. Neither attended court for the hearing.
