Six Malaysians were arrested at Phnom Penh International Airport on July 16 for attempting to smuggle approximately 62 kilogrammes of dried cannabis from Cambodia to the United Kingdom, via Hong Kong. The cannabis was found hidden in four suitcases.

The suspects have been charged under Article 40 of Cambodia's Law on Drug Control for illegal transportation of drugs, which carries a prison sentence of two to 20 years. Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify any accomplices.
