Barcelona has loaned Marcus Rashford from Manchester United until June 30, 2026, with an option for a permanent transfer. This move aims to strengthen their left flank, an area coach Hansi Flick identified, especially after missing out on Nico Williams. Rashford, who fell out of favor at Manchester United and had a loan spell at Aston Villa, will provide backup for wingers Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, and cover for striker Robert Lewandowski.

Barcelona will pay roughly 75% of Rashford's wages, but faces challenges with La Liga's financial rules to register him and other new signings like goalkeeper Joan Garcia, as they had similar issues last season. Rashford becomes a rare British player to join Barcelona, following in the footsteps of players like Gary Lineker, Steve Archibald, and Mark Hughes from the 1980s.
