Liverpool has had a monumental summer transfer window, significantly strengthening their squad. Their latest major acquisition is French striker Hugo Ekitike, 23, from Eintracht Frankfurt for an initial £69 million (US$92 million), potentially rising to £79 million with add-ons. This deal pushes Liverpool's summer spending beyond £250 million.

Ekitike joins after a stellar season with Frankfurt, netting 22 goals in 48 games. His arrival is particularly impactful as it helps fill the void left by the tragic death of Diogo Jota in a car crash in Spain. Liverpool is also reportedly open to selling Darwin Nunez and has fended off a Bayern Munich bid for Luis Diaz.

Other significant incomings this summer include:

German playmaker Florian Wirtz (£116 million)

Defenders Jeremie Frimpong (from Bayer Leverkusen for £29.5 million) and Milos Kerkez0 (from Bournemouth for £40 million)

Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili(from Valencia for around £29.6 million, agreed in 2024 but finalized this summer).

Ekitike has already joined his new teammates for their pre-season tour in Asia.
