E-hailing operators Maxim and InDrive will undergo a three-month monitoring period starting July 24, following an APAD audit that found non-compliance, particularly related to driver permits. Although both companies can continue operations, they must attend monthly sessions at APAD to ensure ongoing compliance.
Previously, APAD had issued a notice of licence cancellation effective July 24, 2025, but both operators appealed and implemented corrective actions, including updating their registration systems to ensure all drivers have valid E-Hailing Vehicle Permits (EVPs). They also granted APAD data access for verification purposes.
Random checks on July 11 confirmed all drivers inspected had valid EVPs. APAD and JPJ deemed the improvements satisfactory but warned that further breaches could lead to stern action under the Land Public Transport Act 2010.
