Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has unveiled the Sejahtera Madani 2025 initiative to boost the welfare of poor and hardcore poor households, focusing on those registered under the national eKasih database.
Coordinated by the Prime Minister’s Department’s ICU, the programme integrates government, private, and civil society aid into one cohesive poverty reduction strategy. It targets four key areas: income, education, housing, and welfare.
RM100 million in CSR funds will be directed to the People’s Wellbeing Fund, with donors eligible for tax deductions. With 306,403 households currently in eKasih, the government aims to cut the poverty rate by 33% this year.
