PN chief whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan has filed a motion to refer Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to the Parliamentary Rights and Privileges Committee, citing misleading statements on the Pulau Batu Puteh RCI.
Takiyuddin claims Anwar told Parliament the RCI had been accepted and its findings would be implemented, but it was later revealed to have been withdrawn, causing confusion. He also questioned if Anwar had overstepped his authority by saying the Cabinet decided not to act, despite the Attorney General’s sole power under Article 145(3) to pursue legal action. He urged the Speaker to allow the motion to proceed.
