Arsenal officially announced the signing of Swedish international striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon on Saturday. The 27-year-old, who scored 39 goals last season, joins on a reported five-year deal for an initial £55 million (€63.5 million), potentially rising to £63.7 million with add-ons. This transfer brings Arsenal's summer spending to around £200 million.
Gyokeres is Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta's sixth summer signing, following Cristhian Mosquera (£13m), Martin Zubimendi (£60m), Kepa Arrizabalaga (£5m), Christian Norgaard (£10m), and Noni Madueke (£48.5m). Gyokeres expressed excitement to join a club of Arsenal's level and is expected to link up with the team on their pre-season tour in Singapore and Hong Kong.
