Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reiterated the Malaysian government's commitment to developing the nation under the Madani framework, emphasizing strong moral values and national unity, guided by the values of Islam, even in a multiracial context. He stressed the importance of balancing rapid technological progress with strong morals and compassion.
Anwar spoke at a 'Majlis Ilmu Madani' event with Islamic scholars, including British musician Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens) and prominent Islamic scholar Dr. Shaykha Haifaa Younis.
During the event, Anwar highlighted the ongoing suffering in Gaza, urging the world not to forget the plight of Palestinians. Dr. Haifaa Younis shared her transformative experience in Gaza, stating it taught her patience and trust in Allah amidst adversity. Quran expert Syeikh Dr. Ahmad Aissa Hassan El-Ma’sarawi also praised Anwar's monthly knowledge gatherings, likening them to practices of early Islamic leaders, and advised Muslims to adhere to the Quran for success and protection.
