Datuk Shazeli Kahar has officially assumed the role of Selangor police chief in a handing-over ceremony witnessed by Bukit Aman Logistics and Technology Department director Gilberd Philip Layang. He takes over from Deputy Commissioner Mohd Zaini Abu Hassan, who was acting chief after Datuk Hussein Omar Khan's promotion. This appointment is part of a broader federal police reshuffle that saw five senior officers appointed as new state police chiefs with the rank of Commissioner, along with other senior officers taking new federal and training institution roles.
