KUALA LUMPUR: The FA of Malaysia (FAM) has vowed to act against those involved following the shocking incident that marred a Malaysia Futsal Cup (MFC) match yesterday.

During the third-place playoff, Sabah head coach Roger Filipe was punched by one of his own officials following their 4-3 defeat to Johor Darul Ta'zim at the N9 Arena in Nilai.

"No form of violence, whether physical or verbal, can be accepted in sports. The Kita Tolak Budaya Buli (We Reject Bullying Culture) campaign is not just a slogan, but a shared commitment to ensure that the field is safe, ethical, and filled with true sporting spirit," said FAM secretary-general Datuk Noor Azman Rahman.

He said the incident will be investigated thoroughly.

"We are in the process of collecting reports from match officials and the referee. After that, we will submit them to the Disciplinary Committee," said Noor Azman.

Sabah had surged to a 3-1 lead through goals from Nattan Soares (12th and 14th minutes) and Farith Ahmad (27th). But JDT stormed back through Mahadir Harahap (13th), Syed Aizad (33rd), Firdaus Ambiah (38th) and Ridzwan Bakri (39th).

At the final whistle, tempers flared as Filipe clashed with his bench offcials, and the incident was broadcast live on TV.

The incident overshadowed Selangor's 13-3 win over Pahang in the MFC final.
