KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim described the actions of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his regime in Gaza as inhumane and beyond the bounds of sanity.
He described the worsening situation in Gaza as unprecedented cruelty, citing starvation and blocked medical supplies.
"People are hungry, dying of starvation! Food supplies at the border cannot enter! The sick, needing medicine, their medicines are blocked and cannot enter!" he said.
"I have never seen, read, or heard in recent times of people as cruel as this. (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu and his ilk are truly deranged. Cruel. Able to justify: 'Little children, all Hamas. Children who do not yet know how to run, this is Hamas,'" he added.
He was speaking at Malam Himpunan dan Selawat Malaysiaku Bersama Gaza at Dataran Merdeka tonight, the highlight of Karnival Sumud Nusantara 2025.
Also in attendance were various Cabinet ministers, KL Mayor Datuk Seri Maimunah Mohd Sharif, and Sumud Nusantara director-general and Cinta Gaza Malaysia chief executive officer Muhammad Nadir Al-Nuri Kamaruzaman.
Meanwhile, Anwar urged Muslims and the international community to continue pressing Israel to halt its atrocities in Palestine.
He described the ongoing cruelty as a critical test for the Muslim ummah and advocates of global peace.
"We must continue to take steps forward. Do not feel burdened to move ahead. Yes, it is exhausting, sometimes disappointing, sometimes it feels hopeless… believe in Allah's help," he said.
