KUALA LUMPUR: National football team coach Peter Cklamovski said that nippy winger Faisal Halim's focus has not been affected by his divorce case.
Acid attack victim Faisal was notified of the divorce application by the lawyer representing his wife, Nur Syazwani Mizuana Shahril, at the Klang Syariah lower court on Tuesday.
Cklamovski, speaking at the pre-match press conference against Singapore at the National Stadium, said Faisal, affectionately known as Mickey, is not affected by the off-pitch distraction.
"From a football perspective, no effect. Obviously, it is a personal matter for him and his family and we all support him through that," said the Australian coach.
"We are all there for him. Mickey's an inspiration to the team. He's in great shape.
"He's fully available (for selection) and has been training hard. I'll make that decision tomorrow and you'll see the team list tomorrow night."
Faisal sustained fourth-degree burns after an unidentified individual splashed acid on him at a shopping mall on May 5 last year. He suffered severe burns on his neck, shoulder, hands and chest.
He was in critical condition and underwent multiple surgeries, including a major skin graft.
