Napping during flights has become a routine practice for many German pilots, according to a new survey by the Vereinigung Cockpit union. The poll of over 900 pilots revealed that 93% had dozed off mid-flight in recent months, with 44% admitting to doing so regularly and 12% on every flight. Although the union acknowledged the survey wasn't fully representative, it raised serious concerns about rising fatigue levels in the aviation sector. “Napping has long become the norm in German cockpits,” said union vice president Katharina Dieseldorff, calling the trend a “worrying reality” that demands urgent attention.
