Severe flash floods struck Indonesia’s Bali and Flores islands, killing at least 13 people and leaving six others missing, the country’s disaster agency reported Wednesday. Torrential rains since late Tuesday triggered flooding across five districts and the capital Denpasar, forcing nearly 200 people to evacuate. Bali alone recorded nine deaths and two missing persons by Wednesday evening, with many displaced residents seeking refuge in temporary shelters, including schools. The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) continues to assess damage and coordinate relief efforts as more rain is expected in the region.
