The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested 27 people, including 18 enforcement officers, for involvement in a smuggling syndicate that facilitated the illegal entry of foreigners. The suspects, aged between 20 and 50, were detained in operations across Selangor, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, and Negeri Sembilan. The group allegedly exchanged bribes to bypass immigration protocols. Authorities seized over RM200,000 in cash, gold bars, jewellery, vehicles, and electronic devices. The arrests mark a major step in dismantling corrupt networks exploiting Malaysia’s border controls.
