Neil Gourley believes fellow Scots Josh Kerr and Jake Wightman haven’t received the credit they deserve for dominating one of track’s toughest events the 1500m. Kerr kicked off 2025 with World Indoor silver in Nanjing and now prepares to defend his 2023 world title in Tokyo, while Wightman was crowned champion in Oregon in 2022. With the event stacked with global talent, Gourley says it’s remarkable that two Scots have stood tallest on the world stage. “It’s probably not appreciated enough,” he told BBC Scotland, “but I’m proud to play a small part in it.”
