KUALA KANGSAR — A Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) student was killed while her sister was critically injured after their car was involved in an accident at kilometre 257 of the northbound North-South Expressway here today.

The deceased was identified as 21-year-old L. Nimala Shangkeri.

According to Utusan Malaysia, the crash occurred when the Nissan Almera, driven by a 27-year-old woman, lost control while in the right lane, skidded to the left, crashed into a guardrail and overturned.

“The accident involved a Nissan Almera that is believed to have skidded, hit the divider and overturned.

“When the team arrived, the driver was found injured while another victim was confirmed dead by medical personnel.
