The PGA Tour has announced that its traditional season-opening event, The Sentry, will be relocated from its usual venue at the Plantation Course at Kapalua on Maui due to ongoing drought conditions. The region is currently under strict water conservation measures, which have significantly impacted course maintenance. After a recent site visit, tour officials determined the course is "significantly compromised" and unlikely to recover in time for the January event, even if restrictions are eased. A new location for the tournament has yet to be announced.
