Marcus Thuram struck twice with powerful headers to lift Inter Milan to a commanding 2-0 win over Ajax in their Champions League group stage opener. Bouncing back from last season’s final heartbreak and recent domestic setbacks, Inter found their rhythm in Amsterdam. Thuram opened the scoring just before halftime, rising at the near post to meet a Hakan Calhanoglu corner. He repeated the feat early in the second half, again off a Calhanoglu delivery, sealing the win and silencing the Johan Cruyff Arena. Inter’s new campaign is off to a flying start.
